Surgical blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) has traditionally been the only effective treatment for significant eyelid hooding. Hot Plasma — also known as plasma fibroblast — has changed this for many clients with mild to moderate excess eyelid skin.
Plasma energy is applied precisely to the excess eyelid skin, creating a controlled contraction of the tissue. The skin contracts and tightens, reducing the excess hood without cutting or removing tissue. The treatment triggers fibroblast activity in the treated area, stimulating new collagen formation that gradually refines and lifts the treated skin over the following weeks.
There is a healing period of 5–7 days during which small carbon crusts form on the treated area — these fall away naturally to reveal tightened, lifted eyelid skin beneath. Most clients take one week away from social events following the procedure.
Hot Plasma is not appropriate for all degrees of eyelid hooding. Very severe hooding may require surgical correction. At your free consultation, your practitioner will assess your eyelids honestly and tell you whether Plasma is likely to produce a meaningful result for you — or whether a surgical referral would better serve your goals.
