Cosmetic Benign Mole Removal
in Finchley.

Plasma removal for medically confirmed benign moles. We do not diagnose moles, assess suspected skin cancer, or remove suspicious lesions. Medical confirmation may be required before treatment.

Important — read first

Medical confirmation comes first.

A mole should not be cosmetically removed simply because it looks harmless. Plasma treatment destroys the treated tissue, which can mean that no specimen remains for laboratory testing (histology). For this reason, we may require written confirmation from a GP, dermatologist or appropriate medical professional that the mole is benign and suitable for cosmetic plasma removal before treatment proceeds. If a mole is new, changing, or otherwise concerning, cosmetic treatment will not proceed. Please bring any relevant GP or dermatology correspondence to your consultation.
See your GP or dermatologist if a mole:
  • Is new or has changed recently
  • Has an irregular or asymmetrical shape
  • Has an uneven, ragged or blurred border
  • Contains several different colours
  • Is becoming larger
  • Bleeds, crusts, hurts or itches
  • Looks noticeably different from your other moles
  • Has not healed normally
These signs do not automatically indicate cancer, but they require medical assessment before any cosmetic treatment is considered.

The treatment

How does plasma mole removal work?

For a suitable, medically confirmed benign mole, plasma energy is applied precisely to the surface of the lesion. The treated tissue is reduced in a controlled manner while minimising contact with surrounding skin. Plasma is not appropriate for every type, size or depth of mole. Larger, deeply rooted, heavily pigmented or diagnostically uncertain lesions may require surgical removal so the tissue can be examined histologically.

Healing

What to expect after treatment.

A crust normally forms over the treated area and must remain clean and be allowed to detach naturally. Temporary redness may remain after the crust falls.

There is also a possibility of the following, which are discussed honestly before treatment proceeds:

  • Temporary or lasting pigmentation change
  • A lighter or darker mark in the treated area
  • Infection
  • Scarring
  • Incomplete removal
    Recurrence requiring further treatment

Important reminders

  1. Medical confirmation (written, from your GP or dermatologist) may be required before treatment.
  2. We do not diagnose moles or assess for skin cancer.
  3. Plasma destroys tissue — histological testing of the removed material is not routinely possible.
  4. If a mole appears to regrow, a new medical assessment is required before further cosmetic treatment.
  5. Suspicious, changing or bleeding moles will not be treated — you will be advised to seek urgent medical review.
FAQ

Benign mole removal — questions answered

Everything you need to know before booking your first session in Finchley.
No. Radiant Skin House provides cosmetic treatment, not medical diagnosis. If there is any uncertainty about a mole, you will need confirmation from a GP or dermatologist before we can consider cosmetic removal.
Treatment should not proceed immediately if medical confirmation has not already been obtained or if the practitioner has any concerns about the lesion. Suitability and safety are always confirmed at consultation first.
No. Suitability depends on the mole’s type, depth, location and prior medical assessment. Some moles are better removed surgically so the tissue can be sent for histological analysis. We will advise honestly at consultation.
Scarring and pigment change are possible with every mole removal method. The likely cosmetic outcome will be discussed before treatment, and realistic expectations are set at consultation.
Some moles can recur if cells remain below the treated surface. A further medical assessment may be needed if regrowth occurs.
No. A suspicious, changing, bleeding or otherwise concerning mole must be assessed through an appropriate medical pathway. We do not assess for skin cancer and will not treat moles that raise any concern.
