Laser hair removal uses a principle called selective photothermolysis — laser energy is tuned to a wavelength absorbed by melanin (the pigment in hair). The light energy heats and destroys the hair follicle while leaving the surrounding skin unaffected.

Because laser only targets actively growing (anagen phase) hairs — which represent around 20–30% of hairs at any given time — a course of 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–8 weeks apart, is needed to catch all follicles during their growth phase.

Most clients achieve significant long-term reduction after a full course. Unlike waxing, shaving or threading, most clients experience significantly fewer ingrown hairs and no longer need a regular shaving or waxing schedule.

Laser works by targeting melanin — the pigment in your hair. The contrast between hair colour and skin tone determines how effective treatment will be. We assess every client individually at consultation and patch test before recommending a course.

Fitzpatrick skin types — all six types can be treated

With the right laser technology and settings, all Fitzpatrick skin types can be treated safely. Darker skin types (IV–VI) require specialist Nd:YAG 1064nm wavelength lasers to bypass surface melanin — we assess every client individually and configure settings accordingly.

Having become a client of Radiant Skin House for manicures a few months back I found myself discussing the beauty treatments they offer with Natalie…
As a mid 60’s lady who was concerned about jowls and ‘turkey’ neck I was trying to find what non surgical and non invasive options were available. I try to look after my skin using natural and organic products but, sadly, these cannot prevent all the effects of aging.
And so Natalie told me about the Lipoform treatment - it combines radio frequency and electro-stimulation - the idea being to tighten loose and saggy skin, drain blocked lymphatic areas, stimulate collagen and hopefully tone and sculpt the area.
Circumstances dictated that I could only book a course of 3 treatments - each one approximately an hour long, over a period of 4 weeks.
The treatment itself was mildly uncomfortable, the radio frequency aspect is absolutely fine, its just a mild tingling, but the heat aspect was a little worse - however it was resolved by Natalie changing areas a little more frequently.
My skin was a bit red afterwards but this settled down within a few hours.
In truth there was a noticeable change after just one treatment - not so much visible in the mirror so much as I could feel my skin was tighter. This continued through the following 2 sessions and now 3 weeks after the last treatment I can definitely feel and see the difference.
My skin is much tighter around my neck, my jowls are reduced and my face is less puffy. The ‘turkey’ neck is less pronounced and saggy, but will definitely benefit from further sessions which I am planning to do in a couple of months time.
For those unwilling, like me, to undergo surgery (or not financially able) I think that Lipoform is a great solution and would definitely recommend giving it a try.
