BLEND X®
755nm + 1064nm
I–VI all treated
Yes
When a client books laser hair removal, they are typically thinking about the number of sessions and the final result. What most people don’t know is that the single most significant variable in how many sessions they need — and whether the treatment is safe for their skin — is the laser system the clinic uses. Two clinics charging similar prices can be operating systems that produce fundamentally different outcomes.
The Splendor X, made by Lumenis, is the most advanced laser hair removal system available. It is not an incremental improvement on existing technology — it introduces capabilities that no previous system has had, beginning with BLEND X®: the ability to fire two different wavelengths simultaneously, in adjustable proportions for each individual client.
For decades, every clinic had to choose a single laser wavelength. Alexandrite 755nm for fair skin, Nd:YAG 1064nm for dark skin, or a Diode 810nm as a compromise that is optimal for neither. Each choice came with trade-offs. Clients with medium or olive skin — a significant proportion of North London’s diverse population — fell between the optimal ranges of every single-wavelength system.
The Splendor X eliminates every one of these trade-offs. It treats all six Fitzpatrick skin types with a blend calibrated specifically for each individual — not a compromise, but a custom configuration. The result is better efficacy, better safety, and genuinely fewer sessions needed to achieve the same permanent reduction.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is not a laser. It uses a broadband flashlamp emitting visible light across a wide spectrum (500–1200nm). The energy is unfocused and much of it is absorbed by the skin rather than the hair follicle. IPL is less precise, less powerful per pulse, and not appropriate for medium to dark skin tones.
IPL is less regulated than medical laser and is widely found in beauty salons, spa chains, and budget hair removal services. Many clients who have experienced disappointing laser results elsewhere have actually been treated with IPL.
The Splendor X is a medical device. It delivers calibrated laser energy at two precise wavelengths via fiber delivery — targeting the melanin in the hair follicle with precision no broadband light source can match. Manufactured by Lumenis to medical device standards, FDA-cleared for all skin types.
If you have previously had treatment elsewhere and were disappointed with the results, it is worth finding out whether you received medical-grade laser or IPL — the difference in outcome is significant.
